100 Prom Dresses

The 100 Prom Dresses Experience is an Impact Project of the Soroptimist International Club of Paranaque in line with its mother organization’s Live Your Dream initiative. Our club is composed of women who are passionate about helping other women and girls live their dreams. And what dream could be sweeter to a girl than her prom! Unfortunately, here in the Philippines, many girls are not fortunate enough to afford gowns of their own, and end up just not going to the prom.

The 100 Prom Dresses Experience aims to gather 100 prom dresses to be given to 100 underprivileged girls in Manila for them to use on their prom. But wait, there’s more! If we gather enough resources, we’d also like to throw in hair and make-up in the package! We invite you to join us in this endeavor. Let us be Fairy Godmothers to these Cinderellas.

Is There Something More To This?

Ah, you got us. Yes, in fact, there is. Soroptimist is all about training girls to be leaders. We desire that their transformation will not be for one night only. Nor will it be merely physical. The 100 girls will also be undergoing personality development and leadership development workshops prior to the prom. Post-prom, the club intends to keep in contact with the girls and orient them with what opportunities they have after high school.
